I just penned a piece on this very subject. Your thesis is that community is the critical asset for anonymous apps, but in contrast I suggest that abuse is a more critical liability — although I agree community is important.

I even suggest that “anonymous + ephemeral” could be the ultimate format, and a formidable rival for Facebook, if some app can solve the abuse conundrum.

Regardless, we’re talking about niches here, so while there’s only so much room for a ubiquitous app like Facebook, there are a lot of crumbs for niche players along the spectrum.
